We have learned more about our protagonist, Maddie, and her family over the past few chapters of our class novel, ''Canterbury Quake.''

ReplyDeleteHello room 8, Jarvis here. In the beginning of the story before the earthquake Maddie was really focused on her singing duet with her best friend Lora. She also really wanted a phone because her older sister Tessa is always texts her friends right in front of Maddie just to annoy her.
ReplyDeleteBefore the earthquake Maddies family was separate but after the earthquake they were really stuck together and didn't want to be alone. Also Maddie forgot all about her phone and didn't really care. But one day Maddies family went to the mall and the got her a phone!!!!
Maddie has two siblings she has a younger brother called Jackson he doesn't scream after an aftershock he just whimpers all night long. Her older sister Tessa is a little bit mean but because of the earthquake Tessa and Maddie have gotten close.

Kia ora Mr Moore Remy here, Before the earthqauke started Maddie was not aloud a phone and everyone was chill but after the earthqauke she got a phone and everyone is nice to each other. Jackson whimpered every time it made an after shock and he has toughned up and now he just rolls with it. There dad is very busy because the roads are wrecked but the mum has lost her job because her hair dressers are knocked down because of the earthqaucke. Blog ya later

ReplyDeleteThe earthquake happened at the middle of the night. When the earthquakes stopped, Maddie got a phone so if the earthquake happened at school, she could call her parents. Maddie couldn't sleep at night because the earthquake sounds were stuck in her head.
Maddie has a little brother called Jackson, her parents and her Aunty Beth in her family.

It is called liquefaction it is so gross and is every were. she has to go toilet in the backyard.

ReplyDeleteI learnt that her mum is a hair dresser and that she needs to work to support her family. I learnt that Maddie's Dad works to fix roads and had a big job now that all the roads are covered in liquefaction. I learnt that Maddie's little brother,Jackson is SCARED of the after shock's and whimpers when one happens. Her big sister Tessa has started being nice to Maddie and Maddie has NOT got use to it because Tessa is normally mean to maddie.

ReplyDeleteAfter the earthquake Maddie started being scared night after night and she kept hearing the rumble sound in her head and she couldn't get any sleep and that was affecting her and how she was doing in school and choir. And she couldn't focus.

For Maddy she had a great life she had great sleep but since the Earthquake hit she could not sleep at all she was always scared to sleep!Her cat dusty has been gone for a while and her Mum had lost her job! School was not on since.The power was of and it was only 4:00 in the morning!A while later I mean days later she got all she has ever wanted A... PHONE!
